How to Loop a Video (Repeat for 10 Minutes or 1 Hour)

Repeat a clip a set number of times, or until it lasts 1, 10 or 60 minutes — for backgrounds, displays and streams. Lossless, fast and free in your browser.

To loop a video, open Loop Video, add the clip, and choose Repeat: A number of times (2 to 30) or Until a length — 1 minute, 10 minutes, 1 hour and more. Press Loop and download. The clip is copied back to back without re-encoding, so the quality stays identical and even an hour-long loop takes seconds.

Loop a video step by step

  1. Open Loop Video.
  2. Add the clip — MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV.
  3. Under Repeat, choose:
    • A number of times and drag the slider (2 to 30), or
    • Until a length and pick Make it at least 0:15, 0:30, 1:00, 5:00, 10:00, 30:00 or 1:00:00.
  4. Check the sum shown — for example "0:12 × 50 = 10:00".
  5. Press Loop, preview, and download. The file keeps the original format.

What people loop videos for

  • Background videos for websites, presentations and events.
  • Shop and reception displays — a product video playing all day from a USB stick on a TV.
  • Stream screens — "starting soon" and "be right back" scenes.
  • Music visualisers and ambience — rain, fireplaces, aquariums, lo-fi animations for YouTube.
  • Meditation and study timers — a calm clip that lasts exactly as long as the session.
  • Short social clips that need a minimum length on a platform.

Seamless loops

A loop looks seamless when the last frame flows into the first. Two easy ways:

  • Make a boomerang with Reverse Video — it plays forward then back, so the end always matches the start. Then loop the boomerang.
  • Trim to a natural cycle — a wave, a pendulum, a spinning object — with the Video Cutter, using Exact so the cut lands on the right frame.

Sound loops too: if the clip has music, the jump at each repeat may be audible. Remove the sound with Mute Video and add a long music track with Add Audio to Video.

File size

Because the clip is copied rather than re-encoded, an hour of loops is about 60 times the size of a one-minute clip (or 300 times a 12-second one). The tool shows the expected size next to the total length. A browser can't build a file much over 1 GB, so if the estimate is larger it says so — shrink the clip first with Compress Video, then loop the smaller version. For screens and TVs that can repeat a video by themselves, simply use the original clip with the player's repeat setting.

Loop different clips together

To play several different clips in sequence, join them with the Video Merger first, then loop the result.

Privacy

The loop is made in your browser with ffmpeg (WebAssembly); your video is never uploaded, and there's no watermark.

Frequently asked questions

Does looping reduce the quality?

No. The original video data is copied, not re-encoded.

Can I make a loop longer than an hour?

The longest preset is one hour, and the slider goes up to 30 repeats. For longer, loop the one-hour result again — as long as the file stays under about 1 GB.

Why is my loop slightly longer than the length I chose?

"Until a length" repeats the clip until it's at least that long, using whole repeats — so a 7-second clip looped to 1 minute makes 9 plays (63 seconds). Trim the result with the Video Cutter if you need an exact length.

Can I make a looping GIF instead?

Yes — GIFs loop forever by themselves. Use Video to GIF for short, silent loops.
