Add music or a voice-over to a video

Put background music on a holiday clip, a voice-over on a tutorial, or clean narration in place of noisy original sound.

How to add audio to a video

  1. Add the video, or paste a direct link to one.
  2. Add the music or voice-over — MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, OGG or FLAC.
  3. Choose whether to Keep it and mix with the video’s own sound or Replace it, and set the volumes.
  4. Choose whether to repeat a short track to fill the video and to fade the music out at the end.
  5. Press Add audio to video, check the result and download the MP4.

Good to know

  • The result is always exactly as long as the video: longer music is cut off (with a 3-second fade if you choose), shorter music repeats or stops.
  • For music under speech, around 20–40% music volume keeps voices clear.
  • The picture is copied untouched when it’s H.264 or HEVC, so the job is quick; other videos are re-encoded as MP4.
  • Trim a song first with the Audio Splitter, join several with the Audio Joiner, or record a voice-over with the Voice Recorder.

Everything is processed in your browser with ffmpeg (WebAssembly): neither file is uploaded, and there are no watermarks.
