To merge videos into one, open the Video Merger, add two or more clips, put them in order with the arrows, choose a Frame size, and press Merge. You get a single MP4 that plays straight through. The clips don't need to match — landscape and portrait, MP4 and MOV, with and without sound all fit together — and everything is processed in your browser.

Merge videos step by step

  1. Open the Video Merger.
  2. Add your clips: select several at once, drop them in, paste them, or paste a direct link to a video file. Use Add more clips to add others later.
  3. Put them in order with the up and down arrows, and remove any you don't want with the bin icon.
  4. Choose the Frame size: Same as clip 1, 1920×1080 · 16:9, 1280×720 · 16:9, 1080×1920 · vertical or 1080×1080 · square.
  5. If the clips have different shapes, choose what fills the gaps under Clips of another shape get: Black bars or Blurred background.
  6. Press Merge (it shows the number of clips and the total length), wait for the progress bar, preview, and download the MP4.

Mixing different clips

  • Different shapes: a portrait phone clip in a landscape video is fitted inside the frame without cropping. Blurred background fills the sides with a soft, enlarged copy of the clip — the look you see on TV news and social media. Black bars is the classic letterbox.
  • Different sizes and frame rates: every clip is converted to the same frame size and frame rate, so the result plays smoothly.
  • Clips without sound: they get silence, so the sound of the clips after them stays in sync.
  • Different formats: MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV can be merged together.

Prepare your clips first

  • Trim each clip to just the good part with the Video Cutter — it's much quicker to cut first than to wait for long clips to merge.
  • Turn sideways clips upright with Rotate Video before merging.
  • Name your files in order (01, 02, 03…) to make ordering easier.

After merging

How long does it take?

Merging re-encodes every clip into one consistent MP4 (H.264 video and AAC sound, at most 1920 pixels on the longer side), which is what makes mismatched clips play smoothly. That's the slow part: a few short phone clips merge in a minute or so, while several minutes of HD or 4K footage can take a good while on an ordinary laptop. The progress bar shows how far it has got.

Privacy

The clips are merged on your device with ffmpeg (WebAssembly); none of them is uploaded. The first use downloads the video engine (about 30 MB) once. There's no watermark and no sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a limit on the number of clips?

There's no fixed limit; the practical limit is your device's memory. Dozens of short clips are fine on a computer.

Will the quality drop?

The clips are re-encoded at high quality. Clips larger than 1920 pixels (4K) are scaled down to Full HD, which also keeps the file a sensible size.

Can I add transitions?

No — clips are joined with straight cuts. For crossfades and titles, use a video editor such as iMovie, CapCut or DaVinci Resolve.

Can I merge audio files instead?

Yes — use the Audio Joiner, which can also crossfade between tracks.
