Rotate a video

Phones sometimes save a video sideways or upside down — and some players and sites ignore the phone’s orientation hint. Rotating the picture itself fixes it for good, in every player.

How to rotate a video

  1. Add a video — MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV — or paste a direct link to one.
  2. Choose 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise or 180° (upside down). The preview shows the result straight away.
  3. Press Rotate video and download the MP4.

Good to know

  • The video is re-encoded as an MP4 (H.264 and AAC) at high quality, so it plays the right way up on every phone, computer and site.
  • A quarter turn swaps the width and height: a 1920×1080 video becomes 1080×1920.
  • To mirror a video instead (back-to-front text from a selfie camera), use Flip Video; to change its shape, Crop Video or Resize Video.

Everything is processed in your browser with ffmpeg (WebAssembly): your video is never uploaded, and there are no watermarks.
