How to Add a Logo or Watermark to a Video

Put your logo or name on every frame of a video — in a corner or the centre, at the size and transparency you choose. Free, in your browser, no upload.

To add a logo to a video, open Add Watermark to Video, add the video, choose Logo (image) and pick your logo file — a PNG with a transparent background looks best. Choose a Position, Size and Opacity while watching the preview, then press Add watermark and download the MP4. Prefer text? Choose Text and type your name or handle instead.

Add a logo step by step

  1. Open Add Watermark to Video.
  2. Add the video — MP4, MOV or WebM — or paste a direct link to one.
  3. Under Watermark, choose Logo (image) and pick your logo (PNG, JPG or WebP) — or Text and type, for example, "© Your Name".
  4. Choose the Position: a corner (Top left, Top right, Bottom left, Bottom right) or Centre.
  5. Choose the Size: Small, Medium or Large — relative to the video's width, so it looks the same on any resolution.
  6. Set the Opacity — 60–80% is visible without being distracting.
  7. Press Add watermark, check the result, and download the MP4.

A logo saved as a JPG has a white (or coloured) box around it, which looks amateur on video. To fix that:

  • Ask your designer for a PNG with transparency, or export one from your design app.
  • Or remove the background yourself with the Background Remover, then download the PNG.

A white or light logo works best on most videos; a dark logo can disappear in dark scenes.

Where to put a watermark

  • Bottom right — the classic spot; out of the way of most action. On TikTok and Reels, the right edge has buttons, so consider Top left instead.
  • Top left / top right — visible and rarely covered by captions.
  • Centre — much harder to crop out, which protects work you're sending for approval (a draft video, a stock-footage preview). Use a low opacity so it can still be watched.

Make a logo that works on video

Logos designed for paper don't always survive on video. A few things help:

  • Simple shapes and bold lines stay legible when the logo is small and the video is compressed.
  • A light (white) version reads on most footage; keep a dark version for bright, snowy or beach scenes.
  • No fine text in the logo — taglines become an unreadable smudge at watermark size.
  • A square or wide logo fits a corner neatly; very tall logos are limited in height so they don't take over the frame.

Watermarking to protect your work

A small corner logo tells viewers where a video came from, wherever it's re-shared. It won't stop a determined person from cropping or blurring it out — a semi-transparent centred mark is much harder to remove. For client previews, use a centred watermark and send the clean version after approval.

Text watermark ideas

  • Your handle: "@yourname"
  • Copyright: "© 2026 Your Studio"
  • Status: "DRAFT — not for publication"

For bigger titles and timed captions, use Add Text to Video.

Photos too

To watermark images rather than videos, use Add Watermark to Image, which works on whole batches of photos.

Privacy and quality

The watermark is drawn in your browser and burned into every frame with ffmpeg (WebAssembly). The video is re-encoded as an MP4 (H.264 and AAC) at high quality, and the sound is kept. Neither the video nor your logo is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove the watermark later?

No — it becomes part of the picture. Keep your original video without the watermark.

Can I use an SVG logo?

Use a PNG, JPG or WebP. Export your SVG logo as a PNG at least 500 pixels wide first.

How long does it take?

Every frame is re-encoded, so roughly the length of the video for HD clips on a laptop — quicker for short clips.
