Flip or mirror a video

Front cameras often record a mirror image, so writing on a T-shirt, a sign or a whiteboard comes out back to front. Flipping the video horizontally puts it the right way round. You can also flip a video upside down, or both.

How to flip a video

1. Add a video — MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV — or paste a direct link to one.
2. Choose Horizontally (mirror), Vertically (upside down) or Both. The preview shows the result.
3. Press Flip video and download the MP4.

Good to know

• Flipping vertically is not the same as rotating 180°: a vertical flip also mirrors left and right. To turn a video upside down the right way, use Rotate Video.
• The video is re-encoded as an MP4 (H.264 and AAC) that plays everywhere; the sound is unchanged.

Everything is processed in your browser with ffmpeg (WebAssembly): your video is never uploaded, and there are no watermarks.
