Add text to a photo

Put a caption, a title, a quote or a label on any picture — for social posts, invitations, product photos, slides and thumbnails. Several pieces of text can go on one photo, each with its own style.

How to add text to an image

  1. Add a photo (JPG, PNG or WebP).
  2. Type your text — press Enter for a new line — and drag it where you want it on the preview.
  3. Choose the font, size, colour and alignment; add an outline, a shadow or a caption bar to keep it readable.
  4. Use “Add text” for more lines elsewhere, then save and download.

Tips

  • Text size follows the photo’s width, so it looks the same on a small or a large picture.
  • White text with a shadow or outline reads on almost any photo; a caption bar helps on busy backgrounds.
  • For classic meme lettering, use the Meme Generator; for a © notice on many photos, Add Watermark to Image.

Everything happens in your browser: your photo is never uploaded to a server, so it stays private.
