How to Convert a PDF to JPG (One Page or All Pages)
Save PDF pages as JPG images to post, share in a chat or put in slides — one page as a single JPG or every page in a ZIP. Free and private.

To turn a PDF into JPG images, open the PDF to Image Converter, add the PDF, keep the format on JPG, and click Convert to JPG. Leave Pages empty to convert the whole document into a ZIP of images, or type a page number to get just that page as a single JPG. It's free, there's no watermark, and the PDF is converted in your browser rather than uploaded.
Convert a PDF to JPG step by step
- Open the PDF to Image Converter and add your PDF. It shows how many pages it has.
- Under Format, choose JPG (smaller files).
- Under Resolution, choose 150 dpi · standard for most uses (more on this below).
- In Pages, type the pages you want — 3, or 1-3, 5 — or leave it empty for all of them.
- Click Convert to JPG, then Download.
One page downloads as a single JPG named after your file, such as "menu-page-3.jpg". Several pages download as one ZIP file containing a JPG per page.
Opening the ZIP on a phone
- iPhone: tap the ZIP in the Files app (it's in Downloads) and it unpacks into a folder. To put the images in Photos, open each image and tap Share › Save Image.
- Android: open the ZIP in the Files app and tap Extract. The images then appear in your gallery, usually under a Downloads album.
If you only need one page on your phone, typing its number in Pages skips the ZIP entirely.
Which resolution to choose
| Resolution | A4 page size in pixels | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 72 dpi | about 600 × 840 | thumbnails, quick previews, small chat images |
| 150 dpi | about 1,240 × 1,750 | sharing on screen, slides, social posts, web pages |
| 300 dpi | about 2,480 × 3,510 | printing, zooming into small print, archiving |
Higher resolutions make bigger files. A 150 dpi JPG of a typical text page is a few hundred kilobytes; at 300 dpi it can be several times that.
JPG or PNG?
JPG files are much smaller, which makes them the right choice for pages with photos and for anything you'll send over a phone network. JPG compression can leave faint smudges around small black text, though. For text-heavy pages, diagrams and slides that need perfectly crisp lines, switch the format to PNG — see how to convert a PDF to high-resolution PNG.
Want the photos inside the PDF, not the pages?
Converting a page gives you a picture of the whole page. If you want a photo or logo that sits on the page at its original quality, use Extract Images from PDF instead — it saves the embedded images themselves.
Other ways to save a PDF page as an image
- Mac: open the PDF in Preview, then File › Export and choose JPEG. It exports the current page only, so it's slow for long documents.
- Windows: there's no built-in converter. The Snipping Tool can capture what's on screen, but at screen resolution — fine for a quick share, poor for print.
- Screenshots on any device work for a single page, but they include the viewer's interface and depend on your zoom level.
After converting
- To make the JPGs smaller still for a website or email, run them through the Image Compressor.
- To turn images back into a PDF — for example after editing a page — use Image to PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The pages are drawn and saved as images in your browser, so confidential documents stay on your device.
Why is my JPG blurry?
You probably used 72 dpi. Convert again at 150 or 300 dpi. If the PDF itself is a low-quality scan, a higher resolution can't add detail that isn't there.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
Unlock it first with Unlock PDF if you know the password.
