How to Join MP3 Files into One (With Crossfade)

Merge MP3s and other audio files into one track in the order you choose, with an optional crossfade between songs. Mixed formats are fine. Free, no upload.

To join MP3 files, open the Audio Joiner, add the files, put them in order with the arrows, and choose a Crossfade if you want songs to blend (or leave it off for clean cuts). Pick the Output format โ€” MP3, M4A or WAV โ€” and press Join. One combined file downloads, made in your browser without uploading anything.

Join audio files step by step

  1. Open the Audio Joiner.
  2. Add two or more files โ€” MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus, WMA, or even videos (their sound is used). Mixed formats are fine.
  3. Put them in order with the up and down arrows; remove any you don't want.
  4. Set the Crossfade โ€” from off up to 8 seconds.
  5. Choose the Output format: MP3 (plays everywhere), M4A or WAV (full quality for editing).
  6. Press Join โ€ฆ files and download the result.

Crossfade or straight cut?

  • Music mixes: a 2โ€“4 second crossfade makes songs flow into each other like a DJ set or radio show.
  • Speech (podcast segments, audiobook chapters, voice notes): no crossfade โ€” a fade would blur words at the joins.
  • Sound effects or loops: no crossfade for precise timing.

Common uses

  • Audiobooks split into dozens of chapter files โ†’ one file for your player.
  • Podcast episodes assembled from intro, interview segments and outro.
  • Voice notes โ€” several short recordings into one message.
  • Party or workout mixes with smooth crossfades.
  • Practice tracks โ€” a song repeated with gaps for rehearsal.

Making one audiobook file

  1. Add all the chapter files. If they're named "Chapter 1", "Chapter 2"โ€ฆ "Chapter 10", check the order โ€” computers sometimes sort "10" before "2".
  2. Leave the crossfade off, so no words are lost at the joins.
  3. Choose M4A for audiobook apps on Apple devices, or MP3 for everything else.
  4. Join and download one file, ready to copy to your player or phone.

Files with different formats and settings

You don't need to convert first. Every file is matched automatically to the same sample rate (44.1 kHz) and stereo, so an MP3 from one source and a WAV from another join seamlessly.

Tips

  • Name files with numbers (01, 02, 03โ€ฆ) before adding them, so the initial order is right.
  • Trim silence or mistakes first with the Audio Splitter โ€” its "Extract a segment" mode keeps just the part you need.
  • Check the loudness: if one file is much quieter, even it out with the Audio Noise Reducer's volume levelling, or adjust before joining.

Share it as a video

Platforms like YouTube only accept video. Turn your joined MP3 into a video with a cover picture using Image + Audio to Video.

Quality

The joined file is encoded once at the output format's quality (MP3 at 192 kbit/s by default). Choose WAV if you'll edit it further โ€” it's lossless โ€” and convert to MP3 at the end with the Audio Converter.

Privacy

Files are joined on your device with ffmpeg (WebAssembly). Nothing is uploaded, and there's no watermark or sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a limit on the number of files?

No fixed limit; your device's memory is the practical limit. Dozens of songs are fine on a computer.

Can I add silence between tracks?

Not directly. Record a few seconds of silence with the Voice Recorder (or use a silent file) and add it between the tracks.

Will the songs' tags be kept?

The joined file is a new recording, so per-song titles and artists aren't carried over.
