Make a GIF from pictures

Turn photos, drawings or screenshots into an animated GIF — a slideshow of a trip, a before-and-after, a step-by-step, or frame-by-frame animation.

How to make a GIF from images

  1. Add your pictures — JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF; select several at once.
  2. Put them in order with the arrows, or press Sort by name.
  3. Choose how long each picture shows (0.1 to 3 seconds) and, for slideshows, Fade between pictures.
  4. Choose the shape (like the first picture, square, 16:9, 4:5 or 9:16), the width, and whether other shapes are cropped to fill or fitted with bars.
  5. Press Make GIF and download it.

Good to know

  • Photos look best with Dithering and Separate colours for each frame, which are on by default.
  • For animation drawn frame by frame, use 0.1 s per picture; for slideshows, 1–3 s.
  • To join existing GIFs, use Merge GIFs; to start from a video, Video to GIF.

Your pictures are never uploaded: the GIF is made in your browser.
